SOLARUNITED Elects Three New Board Members

SOLARUNITED – the GLOBAL PV INDUSTRY & TECHNOLOGY ASSOCIATION, announces the selections of Dr. Nabih Cherradi (Desert Solar Technologies), Martin Fischer (Von Ardenne) and Philippe Malbranche (l’Institut National de l’Energie Solaire) as elected members of the Board of Directors. All the new board members bring extensive experience to complement the board’s strategic initiatives.

“We are pleased to welcome Martin, Nabih, and Philippe to SOLARUNITED’s board”, said Eric Ast, Chairman of SOLARUNITED. “They all bring unique knowledge, wisdom, and perspectives that further will enhance the strength of our existing Board of Directors. Together with our current board members Secretary, Laura Azpillcueta (EVASA) and Vice President, Richard Moreth (Vitronic) we will continue to grow and evolve to meet the changing needs of the worldwide PV community.”

Martin Fischer, Technical Sales Manager, Von Ardenne GmbH, will also serve as the Associations new treasurer. Martin Fischer is also responsible for sales and business development at VON ARDENNE GmbH, a family-owned equipment manufacturer in the field of thin film technologies for devices like photovoltaic modules and architectural glass.

Dr. Nabih Cherradi is Desert Technologies’ Chief Technology Officer. He has spent over 28 years building on a long track record of equipment’s/production lines as well as business development in the semiconductor and photovoltaic industries.

Philippe Malbranche has been working over more than three decades on renewable energies, mainly solar technologies: first within rural electrification programs, second with public authorities on renewable energy policy, then with a PV module manufacturer, and finally in a research center.  Now, he is the Director of INES, l’Institut National de l’Energie Solaire.

SOLARUNITED, formerly IPVEA, has transformed successfully into a brand-new association, combining the strength of its long-time members and new contributors.

The 2017 action plan will deliver valuable information and facts. The Quality working group is represented in more than 20 companies and research centers. The first white paper will be ready for publication in the next weeks. The newly created end Of life (EOL) Management workgroup has started its operations and we are preparing to launch our next working group on one of the most crucial discussion points in the PV industry regarding local vs. global manufacturing.

reshaped as the Global PV Technology and Industry Association, SOLARUNITED is the place for all actors, local, and global to network and contribute to the development of the upstream part of the PV value chain.

The SOLARUNITED 2017 program will provide the industry with dedicated market and industry information, networking possibilities in key events, as well as a platform to increase your visibility, exchange with peers and gather knowledge.

In times of growth, market uncertainties, challenging prices and increasing competition, SOLARUNITED intends to increase our support to equipment manufacturers, components producers, modules and inverters companies across the PV value chain.
